Artist composer, Michael Voskanyan, was born on August 26, 1986 in Yerevan, Armenia. From 1995-2003 he studied at Yerevan’s Folk Instrumental music school in the tar and vocal sections. From 1994-2002 he played and sang in Yerevan’s children’s philharmonic and he was the soloist. From 2004-2008 he studied at the Yerevan State University Department of Arts.
Since 2003, he has worked for the Armenian State National Instrumental Orchestra as the solo atrist. Michael has been composing works at a young age. His creative process began in 2006/2007. He has written more than 100 songs and 70 instrumental works.
Michael Voskanyan is also the author of a number of musical projects and is the founder of ” Colors of Music,” Ethno Jazz Band, “Michael Voskanyan and Friends,” “Miq `s Art acoustic band,” and “Voices of Peace” project.
In 2011, he founded the Miq` s Art Projects, which carries out different musical projects and musical productions.
On March 16, 2012 he had his first solo concert at Cafesjian Art Center as a tarist, which was the debut for the instrument. There had never been a tari solo concert in Armenia until then. He has had numerous concerts in Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Egypt, Sweden, Finland, etc.
He has collaborated with and will collaborate with a number of leading groups in Armenia and abroad (“Los Locos” flamenco band, Mrro Band, Reincarnation Reggae Band, Hakob Jaghatspanyan & Friends, etc.) and with famous musicians (Luca Rossi, Sewing Ikonen, Martin Kay), as well as well known singers (Arsen Grigoryan – Mrro, Arame, Gohar Hovhannisyan, Lilit Hovhannisyan, Anna Khachatryan, etc.) and participate in their concerts and CD recordings.
